Directed by Sarah Gavron, Suffragette centers on story of an unlikely woman who becomes involved in the United Kingdom's fight for the right to vote (which paved the way for women's suffrage in other countries, including the U.S.). This powerful film captures a crucial time in the fight for equal rights for women and explores just how much women risked. Excellent writing, directing, and phenomenal acting by Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Marie Duff and Meryl Streep in a cameo. This film reminds us of how far we've come at a pivotal time in women's history.

WOMEN FOR WOMEN INT'L UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who purchased jewelry at retreats to benefit the Center's sponsorship of another woman for a year. Our new sister's name is Sifa Masema from the DR Congo, a mother of TEN and your support of film nite helps pay for her education and training for a year. We are 2/3 of the way there!
